I don't conform to any of the official editing strategies. I'm sure I took over one or the other element. In the end I developed my own style.
My horses, each with a heavy hoof, are the best teachers. You taught me the most. Especially my Rico.

I've spent an incredible amount of time since 2018 observing how the horses walk/stand, how the hooves react to different trims...taken and studied thousands of photos.
And I read everything I could find on the internet, bought books and watched videos.

Hooves are sooo important, they change the whole horse and we humans do that with you.
No one could handle my horses' hooves, the hooves kept getting worse.

Rico (with me since June 2018) had abscesses, hollow walls, sprains, bleeding, did not occur as planned.
Golfi (with me since October 2019) had false costumes, thrush, a bad gait...
November 2019 there was another change of editor. Result, Rico's front left hoof surrendered completely and Golfi was lame. So I decided to only work on my horses myself.

In 2020 we were still out and about a lot with hoof boots.
The hooves changed a lot for the better this year.
Rico lost a good 2cm of heel height, shanks / hollow walls became smaller, he appears flat….
Golfi got a healthy frog, lost a lot of heel height, the heels that were pushed under got better, he trots and canters again.

Since 2021 we no longer need any hoof protection. Rico and Golfi walk barefoot 1A over hill and dale, even on tours lasting several weeks.
There are no more problems with abscesses, sprains, bleeding...
The horses have more energy, tension is permanently gone, they run more fluidly, are in balance and in their natural individual form....

I have the same results with customer horses that I work on and also with the photo consultations.
Even our initial Hoof Boot Advisor learned from me and transitioned all of her horses to my method. She also says the horses stand and run much better now.

I am very much looking forward to using my knowledge to help many more horses to get better hooves and thus more joie de vivre.

My editing strategy:

- Balance is the be-all and end-all, especially the lateral-medial balance is so often misunderstood
- Supporting edge, heels, bar braces Plan for the functional sole
- Mustang roll to the unpigmented layer of the hoof wall
- Decay horn out
- Hoof walls of equal thickness all around
- respect the shape of the hoof as it is at the moment, giving it time to reshape itself
- In the case of deformed hooves, short intervals of 2-4 weeks with small corrections
- Leave natural crookedness, correct unnatural crookedness

What doesn't work:

- any form of weakening strategies
- rasp a standardized shape into the hoof, edit according to measurements...
